A Going Away Present for a Wonderful Friend!!

Homemade Memory Game!!! LOVE!!!

A good friend is moving away and I wanted to think of a unique and memorable gift to make for her family.

I bought a few long pieces of wood and cut them into squares. Then I sanded them a bit. I took pictures from Facebook of all the kdis in our running group. Then I glued them on and put a layer of Modpodge on top.

Mason Jar Cups

Super simple!!! Use a drill to cut a hole in the top of the lid. Insert a rubber grommet that can be purchased on the hardware isle at your local home improvement store. Insert straw. DONE!!

The size of the hole should match the size of the rubber grommet. I used 5/16 of an inch and the straw fits perfectly!

Redecorating my mantle for spring!!

I finally finished decorating my mantle for spring! Just in case you are curious, here is a little info about each item:

1. Bought this old lantern from Vintage Jane, $9

2. Made this out of old barn wood and my Silhouette machine.

4. Old barn door with words/numbers stenciled on with Silhouette.

5. Star made from a yard stick

6. Old coal bucket, $5 from my friend Greg who takes down old barns.

7. I put white Christmas lights in the bottom of an old wire crate and then put Mason jars on top.

8. Shutters were saved from a trash pile!! They used to be black. I painted them with Annie Sloan paint. The color is called Arles.

9. Floral arrangement and cones purchased from my favorite store ever, Total Bliss!

10. Old milk can from... I don't know!

11. Fleur-de-lis from Hobby Lobby

12. Round black basket also from Total Bliss.

13. Burlap Easter Banner from Isaboo Designs

14. Painted this myself! This is a "non-working" fireplace so I just used regular wall paint.

An Old Valentine's Day Card

I made this puzzle card for Scott when I was 21. We had been dating for less than a month! I knew the night of our first date that I was going to marry him and told my mom so.

I was obviously in school to be a school teacher to make a puzzle card like this.

Barn Wood Coaster

I cut some barn wood in to 4 inch pieces. Then I stamped them and added a layer of Annie Sloan clear wax.

Covering Canvas with Burlap

I had a few flat canvases laying around so I covered them with burlap and painted on them! I made stencils with my Silhouette machine.

I got this corner mantle at a garage sale for $5! I used Annie Sloan paint. The color is called Arles. Then
I distressed it and used clear wax and dark wax.

Since the creation of Sodderbug I have always wanted to use my business to bless others. My sister-in-law, Mary, is in the USAF and is currently serving in Afghanistan. I have offered to make cusotm photo charms for her coworkers. They can order one for themself or as a gift for someone else. It is so exciting to get their orders! I just put a layer of Christmas lights on the bottom of the wire crate and put the mason jars on top!
