Miles for Smiles

I don’t think I have ever told you all about one of my dreams that has come true!  It is called Miles for Smiles.  Have you ever seen one of the youtube videos with Dick Hoyt pushing his handicapped son in marathons and triathlons?  Well, they helped me start a group like them here in North Carolina.  In out first race last fall we had 11 kids!  We have 4 races scheduled for this summer.  Check out the dates and if you live near us and want to participate, hop in!  Of course we always take sponsors too!! :)

Miles for Smiles is an athletic ride along for children with disabilities who would not normally be able to experience outdoor endurance events such as marathons, triathlons and other road races.

(Our only limitation is a weight limit of 130 pounds as this is the weight limit on our jogging strollers.)

*** This Miles for Smiles event is FREE for the children who qualify to participate. ***

All you have to do is:
1. Register at least 1 week in advance
2. Show up!
